Physical Appearance Meme
Typical outfit, or sense of style: Jacket (black leather), T-shirts or sweatshirts (typically black and usually with a sarcastic slogan on them), jeans (blue or black) and sneakers (black). Often borrows other clothes from his brother Niko. He does have a pair of dress shoes (black), but he dislikes wearing them; the soles are too slippery.
The emphasis on black clothes has nothing to do with Cal being emo and everything to do with concealing dirt, mud and blood.
Height: He's around 6'2" or 6'3". (His brother is about six feet; Cal is a couple of inches taller.)
Hair color: Black and, to quote his canon, "ruler-straight." Normally, he wears his hair pulled back in a ponytail, but he recently got his hair cut, so it's fairly short.
Eye color: Gray.
Body type: Average build, with a tendency to be lean and sinewy rather than muscular.
Face: Ordinary nose, pale lips, pale skin. Attractive but not handsome.
The rest: VERY healthy. He's been sick once in his life, and it took a person who was a walking plague to cause that illness.
Tattoos, piercings, scars, birthmarks, amputations, etc.: LOTS of scars. Scars from puncture wounds on his right arm and his neck; a purple ridge of scar tissue on his stomach from a knife wound; a scar from a bullet wound on one side of his chest; and a fist-sized hollow on the other side of his chest where a monster took a bite out of him. He has a tattoo around his upper left arm, a band of red and black with the words "Fratres in Armis." (It looks something like this: http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/ss203/CKing1/ScriptTat.jpg)
Typical expressions and/or gestures: Cal typically looks sarcastic. Whether he's giving you a "you HAVE to be kidding" look or a sardonic grin depends on the situation. If someone he cares about is on the line, however, he will turn serious in a hurry.
Posture and movement: Given his choice and the opportunity, he'll slouch and slump.
Voice: A solid, firm tenor. His voice tends to escalate a bit when he gets scared, which annoys him.
Hygiene routine, if any: Showers or bathes (depending on what's available) and washes his hair. Prefers flavored toothpaste to his brother's health-and-environment-conscious variety. Will wear Robin Goodfellow's cologne (which conceals his normal smell) under protest.
Smell: From page 155 of Roadkill:
"...sorry to say it about Cal, but he smelled of murder in the shadows. It wasn’t his fault. I imagined he’d suffered more than I could imagine from being what he was, suffered from prejudice, suffered from instinct, suffered by knowing he had been created to be nothing but a living weapon. I felt bad for him, I did … but he still smelled like he smelled: Auphe—unkillable monster; five times worse than a demon from Hell. Granted, most couldn’t smell him, but Wolves could."
The smell is the tip-off. Baseline humans cannot smell that, according to Cal's canon. If your character can smell it, then your character most likely knows--WOULD know, if this were Cal's world--that Cal is not human. (Which isn't a secret. Cal will tell you that he's half-human, half-monster, and all attitude.)
Any physical insecurities: Aside from the Auphe? Well, he HATES mirrors. He's also not overly fond of clowns.
